My Work
Building Security, One Lesson at a Time.
A living portfolio of workshops, blogs, and real examples — proof that cybersecurity can be taught, learned, and applied without the jargon.
About this page
This isn’t a list of previous employers. It’s the living portfolio I’ve built myself: a working cyber-awareness platform with lessons, workshops, and plain-English guidance for real people. Everything here exists, is public, and grows week by week.
What I’ve built here
- 30+ bite-size blog lessons — practical 5–7 minute reads that non-techies can use immediately. Browse the blog.
- 2 structured workshops — complete with lessons, quizzes, and clear outcomes. See workshops.
- A consistent visual system — every post has a lightweight, on-brand featured image for fast load and recognisable style.
Blue-team skills in action (through this project)
- Phishing analysis & awareness — repeated coverage of spotting, triaging, and reporting suspicious emails and messages.
- Detection mindset — posts that surface weak points (old accounts, password reuse, dodgy extensions) with “do this today” actions.
- Incident thinking — ransomware, free-Wi-Fi, and QR-code posts framed as mini scenarios with prevention and response steps.
- Human-centred enablement — plain-English training that changes everyday behaviour; no jargon gatekeeping.
Case snapshots (concise and real)
- Phishing awareness — Designed and published a sequence of posts and lessons that teach link checking, sender verification, and reporting routes; paired with simple exercises and checklists.
- Ransomware tabletop (public write-up) — Created an approachable explainer plus “first 5 actions” checklist to mirror blue-team briefing style.
- Cyber-hygiene baseline — Built two workshops covering passwords, updates, backups, and permissions with quizzes to confirm understanding.
Tools & Methods I Work With
- Content & delivery — WordPress with LearnPress LMS for structured training, custom images (optimised WebP/PNG) for performance.
- Frameworks I align and work to — UK NCSC Small Business Guide, Cyber Essentials principles, ISO 27001, GDPR.
- Security awareness build — Creating lessons, quizzes, and campaigns that mirror real blue-team activities (phishing scenarios, ransomware response, social engineering risks).
- Practical prevention steps — Password hygiene, MFA rollouts, software update awareness, backups, and safe device use — all packaged into training content.
- Self-led project delivery — From idea to execution: planning, writing, designing, and publishing 30+ awareness blogs and 2 full workshops.
My approach
Plain English first. Evidence over hype. Quick wins now, foundations for later. I design for the humans actually clicking the links and resetting the passwords — because that’s where most risk begins.
Who this helps
- Individuals & families — learn to spot scams, tighten privacy, and build habits that stick. Start a workshop.
- Small businesses — practical awareness training, phishing basics, and simple playbooks you can actually follow. Ask about sessions.
- Hiring managers — this site shows how I communicate, structure learning, and think defensively; it’s a working example of my process.
Selected reading (a quick flavour)
- Why your email is the key to everything — email as the master reset for your online life.
- Phishing: dodgy links without the jargon — how to pause, check, and report.
- Backups: the boring hero — simple, repeatable safety net.
- Public Wi-Fi risks — convenience vs security, and what actually works.
What’s next
More lessons, more visuals, and modular training packs for SMEs. I’ll keep shipping small, clear improvements that make people safer online.
